The Louisiana Environmental Education Commission was created by the Legislature in 1995. The Commission is comprised of State Department designees of along with educators and representatives from advocacy groups, business and industry and professional organizations appointed by the Governor.

The Commission meets bi-monthly and appointed members serve for a three-year term.
