Governor Bobby Jindal Announces the Appointment of Gerald LaCour to the State Plumbing Board

BATON ROUGE – Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Gerald LaCour to the State Plumbing Board.

The State Plumbing Board serves to ensure the protection of the health, safety, environment and general welfare of those who use and rely upon plumbing systems for their personal and commercial needs.

According to statute, the board is comprised of eight gubernatorial appointments, subject to senate confirmation. One registered engineer and one plumbing inspector are selected from nominations submitted by the Louisiana State Board of Health. Additionally, three master plumbers are selected from nominations submitted by the Louisiana Association of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors of Louisiana and three journeymen plumbers are selected from nominations submitted by the Louisiana Pipe Trades Association.

Gerald LaCour, of Natchez, is a journeyman plumber with Fru-Con Construction.  LaCour was nominated by the Louisiana Pipe Trades Association to serve as a journeyman plumber, as required by statute.
