BATON ROUGE – Governor Bobby Jindal held a Unified Command Group (UCG) meeting today with state officials at the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness to get an update on preparations in response to Tropical Storm Debby.
Governor Jindal said, “While the storm’s path has shifted, we know that during Hurricane Season, we can never take anything for granted. That’s why we always hope for the best and prepare for the worst. We have been working closely with local leaders on the coast in case they need assistance and state agencies are also prepared to assist and respond to impacts of the storm. This is just the beginning of Hurricane Season, and as we near the more active part of the season, it’s critical that people take the time now to ensure their families have a game plan should a storm directly threaten our state.”
