Street served as an attorney in the criminal division of the Louisiana Department of Justice and as chief of the Insurance Fraud Support Unit since 2000, working as a legal advisor to the Louisiana State Police in insurance fraud investigations and leading the criminal prosecution of numerous insurance fraud cases.
Street also served as the Attorney General Office’s representative to the National White Collar Crime Center, and is a National White Collar Crime Center instructor on financial investigation skills and financial records examination. He has been a practicing attorney for more than 18 years, serving as the lead counsel in jury trials, including capital murder and second degree murder cases. Street has been a speaker for numerous professional organizations and civic groups on insurance fraud issues, and has provided training on the prosecution of insurance fraud to the Orleans and Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Offices.
Street previously worked as a private practice trial attorney, specializing in criminal cases in state and federal court, from 1993 to 2000. Before that, he served as an attorney in the East Baton Rouge Public Defender's Office for four years. He has also formerly served as a criminal staff attorney for the Third Circuit Court of Appeal in Lake Charles.
Street is a member of the Louisiana and the Texas State Bar, and has been admitted to all United States District Courts in Louisiana. He has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism and a Law degree from LSU.
